Ashley College Centre Curriculum

Ashley College is a small centre that is committed to providing support, care and the highest quality provision and learning experience for all our young people. Our aim is to help them return to their mainstream school or a longer term alternative provision wherever possible. The College provides support for up to 20 KS3-KS4 pupils at the centre at any one time. Teaching is normally in small groups of no more than 6 pupils. If you require further curriculum information, this can be obtained by speaking to the Deputy Head who has responsibility for Teaching and Learning.

Ht
KS3 Enrichment
Core Non-Core Qualifications AQA Unit Awards provide an additional award scheme for pupils.

The awards are mainly used in the enrichment subjects. Although not an accredited qualification, they encourage motivation, and provide opportunity for pupils to build up a portfolio that demonstrates the skills, knowledge and experience they have gained.

In addition to the National Curriculum subjects, we offer enrichment and therapeutic opportunities to build a positive approach to lifelong learning and enjoyment, self- esteem, life skills and resilience.

The enrichment provision includes: links with local businesses/ organisations, work experience. Football, Tennis, Horticulture, Yoga, Wellbeing/Mindfulness, as well as a range of trips throughout the year.

We also organise specific therapeutic sessions dependent on individual student’s needs, such as equine therapy and drawing therapy
