Our Ethos and Values

SCHOOL ETHOS

Ashley College aims to provide a continuity of education for children who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend school. Delivery of the service aims and ethos is shaped by DFE guidance: Ensuring a good education for children who cannot attend school because of health needs. 2013 and Section 19 of the Education Act 1996).

We are a small provision offering, for KS1-KS4, offering centre based support for 20 students at any one time and home tuition for children and young people who are unable to attend their mainstream school or our centre. Working with parents/carers, mainstream schools, support agencies and community we strive for nothing short of excellence in all that we do.

From June 2019, Ashley College was commissioned by Brent LA to deliver teaching and learning at a new 5 bed in- patient mental health unit for 13-18yrs olds who also have learning disabilities, Crystal House at Kingswood Centre. This is a unique service and the first of its kind in London. Together with the clinical team at Crystal House we will deliver individualised support and teaching and learning to these patients Kingswood with the aim to help them to transition to onto a suitable longer-term placement.

We are never complacent about our achievements; we consistently challenge ourselves to look for ways to improve our practice further to ensure a high level of support and quality of education for the children and young people referred to our provision.

Our vision:

To provide a safe, enriching and nurturing environment, with wellbeing at its heart, where children and young people can learn, gain confidence and thrive.

Our values:
