At Ashley College pride ourselves on our diversity and inclusion practices for both our pupils and staff. To celebrate our work and to continue to strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we have started our journey to becoming a centre of excellence with Learning Workz and the Diversity Mark.
What is the Diversity Mark?
Diversity Mark is a programme focused on developing inclusive practice and mainstreaming diversity in education. The inclusive approach has the aim of improving educational practice and outcomes.
The Standard is based on eight key performance areas:
The Standard is also a practical tool for schools committed to excellence in teaching and learning and the delivery of innovative practice across a broad-based curriculum offer.
In order for us to become a centre of excellence, we need to work in partnership with, pupils, staff and you, our parents.
Our timeline for us is clear
September 2020 – April 2021 Bronze
May 2021 – May 2022 Silver
June 2022 - December 2022 Gold
January 2023 - July 2023 Centre of Excellence
Once we get back to welcoming parents into school post COVID, please visit us and learn about all the things we are doing to ensure diversity and inclusion remains high on our agenda.
