ASHLEY COLLEGE PROVISION UP-DATE

CONTINGENCY PLAN IN CASE OF FUTURE LOCK DOWN - Sept 2020

We consider all our students as vulnerable; therefore will remain open where possible. When closure is beyond our control, we will immediately contact all the families and inform them of the changes. We will continue to keep families fully informed and updated throughout this time.

There is robust safeguarding in place, and we continuously monitor safeguarding and online safety.

Centre Students

Our plan for students and families will be to:

  • deliver teaching and learning via webcam lessons and Google Classroom.
  • ensure all our students and families have the appropriate access and equipment for remote learning. Where this may prove difficult we will deliver personalised work packs
  • Make weekly tutor phone calls
  • Provide weekly wellbeing, yoga and assembly sessions via webcam

Home Tuition Students

The COVID pandemic raises a potential risk to our extremely vulnerable home tuition students.

Where possible, following a risk assessment, we will endeavour to provide 1:1 tuition in a local library. If this becomes impossible due to stricter government/local authority regulations then we will adopt the same protocols as those for students currently unable to leave their homes.

For those students who are not able to leave their homes we will:

  • provide 1:1 teaching and learning via webcam lessons and Google Classroom.
  • ensure all our students and families have the appropriate access and equipment for remote learning. Where this may prove difficult we will deliver personalised work packs
  • coordinate with the mainstream school and endeavour to mirror the schools’ offer by providing packs of resources and guidance to help continue their education at home
  • make weekly tutor phone calls
  • ensure their tutor will provides weekly wellbeing and assembly sessions via webcam

If you experience problems with the timetable and/or webcam lessons please email your child’s Link Tutor or: admin@ashleycollege.brent.sch.uk
